White American evangelicals were one of Donald Trump’s strongest supporter groups. It didn’t matter that Donald Trump had been married three times, made crude sexual jokes, and didn’t know his Bible. About 80 per cent voted for him 2016 and 2020. We hear from African-American historian Anthea Butler on what this says about Christianity in America today.
